Live grinding, “Grinder of the Year” competition, and the future of tool production from WALTER
At GrindingHub from May 5 to 8, 2026, in Stuttgart, we, as a system and solution provider, will be presenting our solution for the future of tool production,ATP – Automated Tool Production, the new VISION LASER laser tool machining center based on the proven WALTER VISION, the HELICHECK NANO for comprehensive measurement of even the smallest tools with a diameter of 0.1 mm or more, and other machines from the fields of grinding, eroding, and measuring. As always, you will of course have the opportunity to learn about our HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO software solution, experience the C.O.R.E. Panel as an intuitive machine control system, and find out everything about our customer care services.
As a special feature, we are proud to present the finals of the “Grinder of the Year” competition for young talent as a technology partner. With the HELITRONIC MINI PLUS competition machine, we are giving participants exclusive insights into state-of-the-art grinding, software, and measurement technology. In this way, we are strengthening the promotion of young talent in tool grinding and further expanding the bridge between training and high-tech applications. The finalists will start at the VDW booth by programming their tools in our HELITRONIC TOOL STUDIO software. With the programmed tool design, they then move to the WALTER booth and grind their tool on the HELITRONIC MINI PLUS. The third step is quality control of the grinding process on the HELICHECK PLUS – also at our booth. The precise analysis provides the decisive quality data for evaluation by the jury. The final will take place on May 6 and 7, 2026.
On the last day of the trade fair, May 8, 2026, we will be presenting another highlight at our booth. WALTER enthusiast and LinkedIn influencer Phil Hollinworth will be grinding tools live on the HELITRONIC MINI PLUS, giving you an exclusive insight into the tools you can produce with our machine.
